Listen first. Respond appropriately. Be only as technical as required.

To me, listening to what someone needs is key. Consider those needs and come up with a practical solution. Only then do we consider things such as achieving the goals. Make any compensation appropriate to the situation.

Luckily, I have the ability in many cases to access computers remotely, if access is granted to me. I often use simple solutions such as Chrome Remote Desktop. Alternately, if whomever I am helping is in reasonable distance, you can either bring your equipment to me, or I may even be able to travel to you. Where there's a will, there's a way.

Windows Help & Cleanup

Troubleshooting, settings, software cleanup, startup issues, organization, updates, and the little problems that make a computer frustrating to use. Help making sense of files, folders, drives, backups, network storage, and other practical ways to keep important information safe and available.

Equipment Analysis

Sometimes we just don't have what we need in terms of hardware. And sometimes we have hardware that can be utilized in new ways to expand your computing capabilities. I can help evaluate your options.

Software Projects

Designing computer applications that run on the desktop or in the browser. Taking projects from the design stage through coding, testing and deployment. From simple scripts to modular suites of functionality. This includes website design.

I've spent the past several years building and fixing things for myself — everything from everyday computer problems to projects that required a much deeper understanding of Windows, networking, file systems, automation, scripting, data (sync, mirroring and versioning).

I have been creating and working on many computer projects in which I have become my own one-person team. I design, code, test and deploy these projects. My career in software support has taught me how to do the very simple things quickly, and also long-term planning that goes in phases.
